Before Capital One, he built Mayven Studios into a top-tier engineering and design agency, delivering scalable software for Fortune 500s and VC-backed startups including Google, Airbnb, Facebook, IBM, Twilio, Segment, Hired, First Round Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Mayven was acquired by Saltwater (Ryan Graves, founding employee of Uber).

Beyond Mayven, Nate has founded and operated a small portfolio of internet businesses across consumer apps and technical content. He invests in and advises early-stage startups on engineering hiring, technical strategy, and scaling marketing operations.

An early pioneer of remote-first engineering, Nate has founded companies and led engineering teams at scale — business primarily out of California and Silicon Valley, with talent sourced globally. He built distributed teams long before remote work was a category, and brings deep experience in async culture and location-agnostic hiring.
